SFI of PA®
Training
Established
through the efforts of a broad range of industry
participants, the SFI of PA training program is
designed to foster understanding of the
SFI program principles, Best Management
Practices (BMPs), regeneration and resource
conservation, safety and OSHA issues, transportation,
and business management.
Once training is started, course work should be
completed within 18 months. Certificates are given
for each course attended and participants are issued
a wallet card to designate completion of training.
Credit for courses taken outside the SFI of PA
program is given as long as they are deemed to be
relevant, similar in content, and if some legitimate
form of documentation is provided to the
SFI program office.
Following completion of the core course level, the
SFI of PA program requires continuing education
to maintain current training status, thus a minimum
of eight hours of continuing education must be taken
every calendar year.
Credits beyond the required eight (8) hours of
continuing education will apply towards receiving
"Master Logger" status.
This brand new, voluntary program will recognize
loggers who demonstrate excellence.
